Fell in Love with the Wrong Girl"

"Fell in Love with the Wrong Girl"

Lockdown brought a lot of shits

Down my crib

Dark stuff into my soul

That I ain't proud of.

Whenever night comes here,

Here's me messing with my phone

Scrolling up and down the street of Facebook

But they're no one to holla.

Then I pulled over a pics,

Of a Short brown skin girl witta a big behind,

That grew up somewhere down South South.

I threw a few hiiiis

And she respond with excited hellos

Convo flew with high speed,

And I never knew when I asked her out

She said yes and we fell in love.

Some of dem nights

Cold will come upon us,

We then spoke about being in each others arms

Motherfucker sends her crazy pics

Shaking her ass in front ma phone screen.

Things got worse, nigga,

Didn't know when I started to play with my thing.

I imagined banging her on the bed till she screams my name.

I saw her wet pants too.

*Laughs*

Love story now in yesterday,

But ya nigga still hooked on this touching thing,

It ain't getting any better neither am I

Y'all should look before you fall,

Some rivers got invincible sharks with sharp teeth

Dem gonna tear your soul before you know everything happening to you.

This my story,

Now everything seems lost

Cos ya nigga ain't free yet

Stories still goes on

Am a 'keep writing too.

"Sun-Lit City"

"Sun-Lit City"

The sun creeps in on where they lay astride

Facing the heavens in their deep sleep

With mouth agape thirsting for droplets of hope

"It is a new day" the sun says

"Get up lads and hurry before the day passes you by with its swift feet

And you have nothing to grease your pockets.

Grudgingly they set out, weakly at first

Then with more perspiration in their eyes

Feet and face pass eachother

With little or no greeting

Mind set on the day and its troubles

And each path brings them closer to their dreams

Or a figure of what it could be.

At midday, the sun seems not to care anymore

Pouring down in might on their bent backs

Sweats drop down their faces like beads of tears

But they wipe it off

So their eyes can see through all life lay before them.

They work from sun up to its fall

But retires home with dissatisfaction in their eyes.

Tonight, the sun seems to give dim light through the eyes of the moon.

While they close their eyes to a world of dead dreams.

This time those ghosts don't scare again

It brings closer the hope of a resurrection morning

Whose sun will stand and never fall again.

"Mourning Morning"

 "Mourning Morning"

This morning

Small peebles of sorrow were hurled from heaven,

At a blood-bathed earth,

It was an open mockery to a grieving world.

Mould of wounds and lifeless bodies were littered about

People mourning with their feet walking around

Death has covered our sight

So we don't know when another will seize us

Like bats we are flying wildly in the day with blood dripping from our skull.

"Multitude of Soles"

"Multitude of Soles"

A big giant gong appears in the square
With a poised rugged look
Like a blood-thirsty armoured tank.

The gong began to beat itself,
Soon feet began to gather
Quickly they turned into a marching army.

The din of their liberation cry
Was heard far and wide
Drowning every sense of serenity left.

The young and old,
The heroes past and heroes now,
Rage and fate were all mingle together as one.

The giant gong lamented of a raging evil from the North,
Sitting on a lofty chair with a rich white caftan
Wearing dark googles of bigotry and nepotism.

"The only way to this golden horizon
Spreading before our eyes
Is a revolution, freedom to be"
"For the night won't be long
And our battles will soon be worn"

These were his exact words,
They began as whispers to our soul
But now they are the propelling force behind this multitude of soles.

"A Home for All"

 "A Home for All"

You're the hand reaching out to the dark from darkness,

Pulling them so hard,

yours was lighter, you thought

Or perhaps that we could all together walk back into light.

Love is more than a word

More than the fire in our soul

Love is frail humanity

Living like God for all.

You could be the one

That everyone wants

Or calls like God

When their worlds war.

The earth has no lasting trophy for us,

Everything sits sanely in eternity

While we rave and rove ceaselessly

Only to discover that we all believed sound lies.

How will there be?

Mad or quiet?

Heaven or hell?

Best thing is we found a home

Where we will all go.

"Scribbling Utterances"

"Scribbling Utterances"

I will tell you things that I hear myself say

Things said in between silence and darkness

Watching your despair grow so tall and huge like the walls in your room.

Who could hear when you scream so loud?

Is every cry meant to be that loud?

The intensity draws strokes of the tongue

Than acceptance and help

The errant hope you once had

Feels so slippery at your every attempt to grasp it

You sit forlorn waiting for the darkness you so dread.

The list waits but you write and wait

Scribbling utterances as they come

Hoping to read each line,

At that other end of time.

"When all Hell Let Loose"

 "When all hell let loose"

What will be has begun,

Fate is what we walk into as we return,

Every chapter has a story,

Which we keep flipping till we meet the end.

Arguments, worries, fear,

Sink like stones within your soul

That fall and never rise again.

Belief, breath, hope

Hover over the sky

Reluctant to set feet on the earth they once admired.

You begin to count your loss

For in this, you hope to gain true knowledge of yourself,

Or know why you feel so estranged.

Laughter dies prematurely in between your smothering smiles

Your eyes stretch afar looking into nowhere

Begging sweet memories to return.

"Ibe"

"Ibe" Ibem, my mates have moved on... Their journey tracing the barely travelled paths.  I tried to whet my feet on the stones of...
